Please Help Ella – a Frenchie Rescue Emergencey

Imagine that you are a French Bulldog puppy. One day, you are taken away from your brothers and sisters, and from your mother, and you go to live with a new family. If you had been a lucky French Bulldog, you would now have a safe, loving home for life, with people who care for you, feed you and protect you.

You, however, are not one of the lucky ones. You are, instead, Ella – a small, cream French Bulldog who ended up with an owner who found you annoying instead of charming, a burden instead of a blessing. A few times, your owner offered to give you away to people, only to change her mind. She apparently thought that maybe she could breed you, someday, and maybe ‘get some of her money back’. Eventually, your owner contacted rescue, telling them that she was moving, and that you, Ella, were in the way, so could they please take you? She was in quite a rush to get rid of you, Ella, and then at the very last minute, she changed her mind. We’re so sorry that we couldn’t get to you then, to help you, because things got much worse for you after that.

Wendy Laymon is a notorious, convicted puppy miller, despicable enough to have earned herself a place on the Humane Society of the United States list of Missouri’s Dirty Dozen Worst Puppy Mills . That’s quite a feat, considering how much puppy mill competition there is in the state of Missouri.

How you can help French Bulldog Rescue

The amount of dogs that are now coming into French Bulldog rescue can sometimes seem overwhelming. It’s easy to think that, just because you can’t foster a dog in your home, or donate money, there’s nothing that you can do to help.

In fact, that’s not true at all. Even someone who is housebound can still be a French Bulldog rescue “booster”.

For example, you can browse to the French Bulldog Village Website, and use the Facebook button at the bottom of a foster dog or available French Bulldog’s profile. Clicking the ‘like’ button will add that dog’s link to your Facebook wall, making him visible to all of your friends. Maybe one of them will be the perfect home for that dog, or will be the person who decides to sponsor that dog’s surgery – and all because you took the time to click a button and make a comment!

Here’s a long list of ways that you can help French Bulldog Rescue – or any other breed rescue of your choice. Remember, the little kindnesses matter, just as much as the large ones.

Help support Veda!

Our friends at SNORT (Short Noses Only Rescue Team) in Buffalo, New York, have a really special girl they’d like to introduce you to.

From their website:

We aren’t sure exactly how old Veda is, but she is guessed to only be about 1 year old.  Poor Veda has one very upset tummy, and after being advertised in the classifieds twice, she couldn’t be happier or luckier to have landed in her loving foster mom’s hands!  Veda suffered rectal prolapse and received surgery to attempt to repair it.  Unfortunately, the surgery was not completely successful and Veda now has fecal incontinence.  To top it all off, she has a very upset tummy that could possibly be IBD.  Veda is very thin and understandably so–she has been sick for quite a long time.
