Photo Update Overload

Boy, have I ever got a LOT of new photos to share.

Bunny’s kids are here.

It’s fun spending time with them now – they’re starting to get personalities, as opposed to just being cute little Hamsters. They respond to us when they see us, they solicit attention, and they sometimes bark when they don’t get it!

Right now, Jacques and DP are the most reticent of the pups – a little bit shy, but very sweet. Po and Vela are bold and brave, attacking every new experience with enthusiasm. Hugo is mellllow – and boy, does that boy love to nap.

This afternoon, I’ll be moving them to the playpen in the family room, where they’ll start spending part of every day. This will expose them to new sights, sounds and experiences.

Delilah’s kids are here.

They’re still at the fat little chunky muffin phase, although the dark brindle girl has apparently inherited her grandmother’s reluctance to be awoken from naps. Like Sailor, the dark brindle girl wakes up frantic and more than a little bit pissed off – “How dare you wake me when I’m sleeping??”. I guess I know who inherited the princess gene.

Her silvery colored sister informed me yesterday when I picked her up that her name is Pickle. It’s funny how that works – one minute, they’re ‘anonymous puppy girl’, then the next you find yourself saying “Well, good morning, Pickle”, and wondering where the hell did that come from? Every so often, puppies just pick their own names. It happens.

This litter, by the way, is my Punk themed litter – how could the kids of Delilah and Dexter not be punks, I ask you? The little boy is veering between Johnny Thunders, Johnny Rotten (more for PiL, actually), Joe Strummer and Joey Ramone. No idea on the girls, other than one will be KatieJane (of Daisy Chainsaw fame).

Tula’s kids are here.

Right now, I’m watching them fill out – they were a good size when they were born, but they felt a little ribby. Already, at three days old, that feeling is gone, and they feel packed and solid, with some weight to them. Their only goals at the moment are eat/sleep/eliminate/repeat, and not necessarily in that order. We hardly even see the puppies – Tula keeps them tucked underneath her flank, hidden away. I have to put her water and food into the whelping box for her, as she can barely stand to leave them. I love the little girl’s head already, but I try not to get my hopes up this early.

Easier said than done, of course.

As for theme names, I’m still thinking this over. I contemplated tea – Darjeeling and Earl Grey? Chamomile and Red Zinger? No, maybe not. Then I contemplated movie titles. Movie stars?

I just don’t know. Any suggestions for a pair of little cream cuties?

Thanks for the wonderful updates…I love hearing all about the cutie kids! (And it’s totally fascinating to see how Po grows with his great markings.) What do you think about The White Stripes for Tula’s pair? Jack and Meg might be nice…

Hmm, I really like the White Stripes, but I’m trying to stay away from another music themed litter (I tend to do an awful lot of those).

But I do like the ‘paired’ idea.. what else is paired? I’ll have to think on this one.

Another good one, but there were already two fairly famous Frenchies named that – they were owned by Dave Nichols, of Loblaws/Presidents Choice fame (well, ‘fame’ being relative, and pretty specific to Canada).

He did a lot of advertising on them – of course, this was in the 80’s, so maybe no one else remembers this but me.. lol!

Ah, I am actually Canadian but haven’t lived up there in many years, nor did I have a Frenchie back then either! Oh well. How about Jesse (James) and Annie (Oakley), they were never a couple, or Fred and Ginger, Lucy and Ricky, Sonny and Cher….LOL….now that’s a bit of a reach!

How about paint? I am currently choosing paint colors for some rooms and there are some really cute names to choose from…. like ‘Marshmallow Snow’ or ‘Amberlight’ or ‘Sugarcane’ or ‘Raffia’ or ‘Lambkin’ or ‘Milquetoast’ – Serious!! – anyway, the list is endless.
    Good luck

I like Sonny and Cher or not so much singers but entertainers….there’s always Fred and Ginger, George and Gracie, Lucy and Desi ( I watched a special the other night on old comedies)or John and Yoko….okay I’ll stop

I just want to say that your puppies are so cute! I want to kiss their little toes and pink bellies. My husband says that he is tired of me going “Oh how cute, come look at this puppy, ect.” But I must say that I think Po is the greatest name ever for a white puppy with black eye spots (im assuming that you are naming him after Po in the panda cartoon.) But I love your website and dogs, its like crack for people that love smushed-face dogs.

It’s all your fault I’m so in love with Frenchies now! All the photos, the videos (I swear I would marry Jake Handsome if he were available). BTW-are Jake’s ears real? I have never seen him before! He looks like he could launch into flight with those bat ears! INCREDIBLY ADORABLE!!!! Kisses to all the puppies from the Lone Star State!

Yeah, I was hoping to avoid movie stars this time around, but maybe. I do love Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn…

Of course, that implies they’re a couple, rather than brother and sister!

I’m hoping to be a frog dog mom someday, I’ve been enjoying the pictures of all of your pups! I absolutely Love the cream color, with black being a really close favorite.
Anyhow, until that happy day comes for me….I’ll suggest for the cream pair after one of my favorite movies, Benny and Joon.

I don’t know where your interests lie in tv and film, maybe Buffy and Spike? Neo and Trinity? Jon and Kate? (I know, I’m bad)
Marge and Homer? Bart and Lisa? Westley and Buttercup? (yeah, kinda duplicates Butters, oh well) Latka and Simka? Scully and Mulder?
Just a few off the top of my head. Congrats on all those gorgeous pups! Puppy lust in full force here.

    I couldn’t do singers if I wanted to. . . but here’s what I’ve got:

    Cream and Sugar?
    Alsace and Lorraine?
    Dolce and Gabbana?
    Jack and Jill?
    Hansel and Gretl?
    Will and Grace?
    Barnum and Bailey?
    Asterix and Obelix?

No pair is coming to mind in this category, but how about constellation names for a future litter?

How about another (slightly geeked out reference) brother and sister.. Luke and Leia? When they get a bit older you could do movies with them and have light saber sounds and all of that! 🙂

    • frogdogz
      frogdogz says:

Hmm… I kinda like that idea. Now, for registered names I’d need some really geeky, obscure Star Wars terminology… let’s see if anyone steps up with suggestions on THAT one!

Bullmarket Absolut Use the Force? Hmm…
Bullmarket Absolut Jedi Mind Control? too geeky even for me…

  10. maggie
    maggie says:

    How about:

Bullmarket Absolut The Force is With Him (for Luke)

    and

Bullmarket Absolut Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi (for Leia)

Have I officially geeked out too much?

The movie titles ( I am told by my son) were
    A New Hope
    Empire Strikes Back
    Return of the Jedi
    Phantom Menace
    Revenge of the Sith
    There was also Clone Wars

On another note Batman ( Batears) has some pretty good male/female characters
2 of my faves Joker and his female side kick Harley Quinn.
Also Lucy and Desi were also the names of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez’s kids brother and sister.

On another note I watched a show last night called Tattoo Highway and one of the guys has a frenchie name Nacho, who did a photo shoot with pin up girls to promote rescue….they’re everywhere (frenchies not pin up girls)

I love ‘New Hope’, and I can completely see a puppy named “Phantom Menace”. OK, we might have our winners here!

I just love, love, love naming puppies.
