Help the Missouri Fight Bust Dogs
Unlike some agencies that solicit for funds to ‘help fighting dogs’, this charity really is going to use your donations for the daily care and well being the dogs seized in the Missouri fight bust.
Forwarded message:
I am a volunteer with the United Animal Nations (UAN) that just came back from deployment involving the sheltering of over 400 pit bulls that were rescued from the largest dog fighting raid in U.S. history. These dogs were taken in by the Humane Society of Missouri (HSMO).
Because of the enormity of this operation, although HSMO received supplies, they are running out, and I was informed by Petsmart Charities that you have a listserve where you can post needed supplies and other information that goes out to many animal organizations.
I spoke with HSMO today about what I could do long distance to help out. They listed a number of supplies that are needed right away. Would you please post in your listserve the following supplies that are immediately needed for over 400 dogs:
(1) shop rags/old towels (small enough to clean the inside of dog crates)
(2) larger sized towels
(3) kongs (preferably) or other extremely durable toys for large-sized dogs
(4) dog treatsOther supplies that will be needed in the near future:
(5) Dog food: Purina One brand (for adults and puppies)Donations can be sent to:

Thanks for this — I’m in St. Louis and it’s been great to see the local rescue organizations mobilize to help out these poor dogs. HSMO is a great organization (and definitely not going the way of HSUS).
The Saint Louis Pet Lover Coalition has been doing a lot of great work (http://www.stlpetlover.org/) along with Stray Rescue, of course (http://www.strayrescue.org/).
