Where did your puppy come from? Pt 2

Yesterday, I wrote about CAPS (Companion Animal Protection Society) fight against Kathy Bauck, of Pick of the Litter Puppies aka Puppies on Wheels. If you haven’t yet, please watch the CAPS documentary.

Today, I’m going to write about the fall out from the Kathy Bauck investigation, and how it applies to all of us. Next week, I’ll write about the implications of this case for Canadian Breeders, and for Agriculture Canada.

Let me put it to you bluntly – consider this my declaration of war.

Lost/Stolen French Bulldog, Queens NY

This is a missing or stolen French Bulldog alert, for the Queens, New York area. Please cross post and/or re tweet

Please note: This is not my girl, who is also named “Butters”.

updated with a note from Butters’ owner:

my dog has been stolen. I have two frenchies, one male, one female..both under a year old. My male was stolen on Saturday, May 28th 2011 between the times of 3:00pm-6:30pm. I have notified the police but they say that if I did not see a specific person stealing my dog, no report will be filed. I am sure he did not run away because my house is gated and he has grown too big to slip between the gates.

Modern Family Gets a French Bulldog

It seems every other time I turn on the television, open a magazine or browse the web, I see another celebrity toting a French Bulldog puppy around. Oddly enough, you almost never see follow up photos of those same celebrities with their adult French Bulldogs. Either the paparazzi don’t think grown up Frenchies are adorable enough to bother shooting, or there’s some sort of French Bulldog retirement ranch out there, filled with the cast off dogs of the rich and stupid.

Come to think of it, maybe that’s where Pig ended up.

KW Kennel Club Weekend Wrap Up

A quick thanks to everyone who came out to the Kitchener Waterloo Kennel Club dog show this weekend to meet some Frenchies! At least six or eight people came out, some of whom I had only the briefest of moments to talk to, for which I apologize. Next time, we’ll try to organize things a bit better, so that I have a chance to talk to everyone. It was pretty funny, actually – at one point, we’d taken over the entire corner of the floor, and it looked like a tiny Frenchie Meet Up in progress.
