Cathy Pendleton and Her Beloved Samoyeds

Hello, everyone,

It is with great sadness to pass along that my dog breeder, Cathy Pendleton, whom I love and treasure, is losing her battle with breast cancer. She can no longer care for her dogs. She is in hospice after being in the hospital for a week.

We are in the process of placing her Samoyeds. If you know of anyone who would like a sweet natured, playful pet, please let me know. She has all girls who range from 1.5 years old to more senior dogs. All are healthy and have been very well taken care of.. New homes need to have space for an active dog and a fenced in back yard. There is no cost, but the new family will need to spay the dog if it is less than 7 years old.

They can move out of state. The new family needs to be willing to stay in touch with the “Sammy family.” We will want to know how they are doing and if it is working out, etc.

Let me know if you have any leads. Thanks for your help!

Dog Show Temper Tantrums

French Bulldogs have always been a popular ‘second breed’ for breeders and exhibitors. Downsizing from Mastiffs or even Bulldogs to something more compact makes sense – easier to carry, easier to show, less room required. What has come as a shock to many of these transitioning exhibitors is how downright nasty the French Bulldog ring can be from time to time. Oh, don’t get me wrong — all rings are competitive, that’s a given. Everyone showing on any given day is there because they expect to win – it’s just that, in the Frenchie ring, we seem to have more than our fair share of people who don’t take losing with anything approaching grace.

In fact, there’s an awful lot of similarity between some losing Frenchie exhibitors and a spoiled, tantrum throwing seven year old who’s just been told that the party is all out of chocolate ice cream.

Martha Stewart's Chow Puppy Dead in Accident

Martha Stewart fans got a kick out of learning last week that her two Frenchies, Sharkey and Francesca, had started their own blog. Called “The Daily Wag“, the blog promises to share details of the adventures of the twosome. Tessa posted a comment chastising them for referring to Martha as “the boss”, but we note it hasn’t appeared yet. Apparently Martha takes that boss title seriously.

This week, however, the news is much more grim. Martha’s new Chow puppy, Ghengis Khan, was killed in a freak propane explosion at the Pennsylvania home of her breeder. The new puppy, who was the topic of much internet discussion on sites like cuteoverload.com, was the successor to Martha’s previous Chow, Kublai Khan.

Blogrolling Blows

After six+ months of downtime, rumors of major leaugue hacks and problems, and a ‘we’re working on it! Back any moment now! Really!’ page that kept pushing ahead the roll out date, Blogrolling is finally back — and I just removed it from my template.

Here’s a hint – if your service spends months down, pissing off your subscribers and making it impossible for any of us to edit our links, perhaps you shouldn’t re launch immediately with a new format that forces my visitors to read stupid paid ads on every link – paid ads that *I* have to pay to have removed.

Pay you? How about I just go back to using the old skool WordPress blogroll list, instead?

Morons. Major marketing fail.
