Due Date – the Movie

Due Date movie poster French Bulldog Robert Downey

Generally, movies featuring French Bulldogs make me nervous – we’ve had enough pop culture references, thanks, and we don’t need any more breed popularity. In this case, however, I’m making an exception, and not just because “Due Date” stars Robert Downey, Jr., one of my favorite actors of all time.

“Due Date” comes to you from the same people who brought you “The Hangover” and “Old School“, two of the funniest movies I’ve seen in ages, and it also stars the ever awesome Zach Galifianakis. The Frenchie in this movie gets a lot of face time, which is also unusual, and he seems to spend the entire movie wearing a cone and a bandaged foot. All together now – awwwwwwww.

Check out the trailer below, and tell me it doesn’t look great – even without the adorable cream Frenchie. “Due Date” comes out November 5.

This looks great! I LOVED the Hangover & adding a Frenchie tops it right there

I wonder if this is the same cream french that mike tyson was holding in his lap in the hangover? I wonder if it is the director’s pet or something, it definitely looks similar!

I definitely thought the same thing! A lot of people probably didn’t notice that puppy (except for us frenchie owners). I have a feeling this movie is going to make people covet my cream frenchie even more than they already do. It’s going to be an awesome movie :)

I wish I could post a photo of mine. He’s as cute as the one in this movie. I love my French bulldog

A little worrying how they show the Frenchie walking through the desert and riding in the back of the truck, though! I live near the equator, and I can tell you that my Frenchie does not last much longer than five minutes outside. Maybe I’m being uptight but I cringed when I saw the trailer… though I LOVE Zach G. and this movie looks great.

well..I can maybe answer the question, who is the frenchie in the movie Due Date? I bought my cream French Bulldog, Booz about 4 1/2 months ago from a breeder in Pasadena, CA. His Mom is actually the Frenchie in the movie Due Date..her name is Honey, but is Sunny in the movie..lol. I cannot WAIT until the movie comes out..and for his Mom to become a big star..; ) maybe her son will follow her footsteps one day..haha.

    • April says:

oh..and the breeder never mentioned that the dog was in The Hangover..so I think this may be a different dog..maybe the extra they used in Due Date as well?!

  11. Calvin & Olive says:

The movie is great and the the french bulldog really makes the movie. I was surprised to find out it was a girl dog though as there is a scene where it is obviously male dog. It is doing a “trick” that our dog also performs. Now that I know it is girl dog I guess our dog’s trick is a bit unusual!

  12. Gina says:

Usually a movie requires many dogs to do the work required in a movie..just like kids..
